New Bicycles and a Snow Storm...

What a wonderful combination! the little girls were given new bicycles that they picked out at Wal-mart. Anna loved her on sight so much, that when the employee went to pump up the tires, she screamed and cried, and flailed around until he came back, well even after he brought back the bike actually...As for Robyn, she thinks hers is so cool. Especially since it is a Barbie bike with all of the Barbie accessories attached. The only problem...we are in the midst of a winter "weather advisory" according to the weatherman, but let's just call it what it truly is, shall we...a STORM! Hopefully soon, the weather will cooperate, we are suffering from a bit of cabin fever here!

Contentment and Stress All at Once!

Okay so, today is a BIG day for me...but first let me tell you about my morning, hubby has the rest of the week off...woohoo, chores will get to be done! Anyway, first thing, he took 4 y/o to preschool, teenager off to school, so the baby and I sat down to read stories in the rocking chair, we were able to read the same two stories six times before Daddy walked back in from his errand. We picked out the turtle's facial features, eyes, nose, mouth, belly, you know, the essentials. She is so amazed when I read to her, and I am so proud and happy when she understands and listens. But, once hubby walks in the door he says to me, "I thought that you would have bacon cooking?" "But," I said, "we were reading stories." That was Okay, he assured me, because he knows that whatever they want to do at that moment takes presidence.
So, you are thinking that that is by no means stressful, and you are right. This afternoon, I have a consultation at the dentist office...Under normal circumstances that would be no big deal, but not for me! I have had such bad experiences when I was younger that I would get physically sick at the sounds, the smells, etc., and that is just when I would first walk in the door. So, this afternoon, sweet, and amazing hubby is going to hold my hand when I go in, to just talk to the dentist about getting some work done. I didn't sleep well last night, and I am so worried that I am all jittery...Any suggestions as to what will help me stay calm? Can you say sedative dentistry? Also, my baby is teething, and so all she really wants right now is soft food, so thank goodness for the amazement that there is leftover french toast for her, and Carnation instant breakfast and milk!

February and Cabin Fever!

I wish that February was Spring, instead it is still technically Winter. The catalogs for flowers and plants are starting to arrive, and so we are hoping for warm weather to arrive quickly so that we can all go out and play in the sunlight and warm breezes...instead we are inside, trying mot to yell and scream at each other because the spaces are closing in on us, because the wind is still so bitterly cold! Wish us well as we send best wishes to you for a sppedy arrival of Spring, Warm weather and beautiful flowers!

New Year...New Outlook!

Being a stay at home Mom is tough! I love my girls, I really do, but I seem to worry more about what I don't get done then what I accomplish each day! Like today, I got some laundry done, dinner made for everyone, so that I can get to class on time, dishes, and even was able to take a shower before the hubby got home from work. Even though it appears that I was able to accomplish stuff, my house looks like a tornado ran through it, then came back for another pass just for good measure. But, I will tell you that the one thing I did get done, and look forward to each and everyday, it the hugs, and kisses, and snuggling time that I spend with the little ones. I love when Anna runs her finger in my hair and hugs and hugs with all her might! I also love when Robyn says "Mommy...Guess What?" To which I reply, "What?" And she responds, "I LOVE YOU!!!" Those are the best moments! So when the wonderful, patient and understanding hubby arrives home on those days when nothing gets done, and no dinner is waiting, and he has to dodge the landmines of toys...I can say, with 100% pride..."We snuggled today!"
